I was lucky enough to stop by one of my local churches for their annual rummage sale. It was packed with stuff, but I didn't have a lot of time to shop, so I grabbed the bright and colorful things that jumped out at me and then hit the road. There wasn't much in the way of vintage housewares (my usual addiction when shopping a sale), but I did manage to get quite a few vintage toys (definitely a close second when it comes to my favorite things to find).
I left with a Fisher Price turtle and farm animals, an old plastic whale (my brothers and I had a shark like this when I was younger), Grumpy Bear Care Bear, two McDonalds glasses, a pair of Enesco ceramic Christmas mice (I love these), a striped Hazel-Atlas mug, a Hallmark Santa kitchen timer (newer, but cute for the holidays), and a set of packaged "Plant Pals" (a completely ridiculous flocked animal that you insert a fertilizer stick into and then place in the pot next to your plant... yes, I am in love). In addition to these goodies, I also picked up this crazy light fixture (1970s?) that is part candlebra encased in a lucite dome and and also an overhead light which is underneath in the funnel of stainless steel underneath the candlebra piece. How could I resist?
