Yesterday, I experimented with making a jello mold for the first time. I had found this old tupperware mold at a flea market about a week ago and as soon as I got home I started searching for recipes to try.
I was trying to find something that would be like a creamsicle flavor with layers of cream and orange. Ultimately, I found this recipe for a Candy Corn Jello Bundt and then modified it. Basically, I just added some vanilla flavoring to the top layer, sweetened condensed milk & vanilla flavoring to the second layer, and then made the third layer orange instead of lemon.
I got one good side out of the mold (shown in the pic)... the other side and the inside has small rips and tears. I have to try and improve that next time. Hopefully that improves with practice!
I am bringing it to a family party tonight, so I made a little side portion of it with the excess liquid to test it out before forcing it on others. It seems to taste pretty good. I am curious to see if my family will like it or if this will be that sad dessert that sits on the table unloved and untouched. If that is the case, instead of using the mold for future recipes, maybe I will make a lamp out of it.
